Your Bio

Throughout my life I've been exploring the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. Beginning in late 2003, when my best friend left this world for higher, crazier mountains than here in the Cascades, I took up his beloved Nikon camera. So, not only do these pictures remind me of the past, they also help me seek an 'Alpine State of Mind'. My hope is that after your visit here, the same can be said for you.

It isn't often that you get to spend several nights above the clouds. From the summit of Panic Peak clouds swarm and boil. In this photo looking out over part of the Ridge of the Gods, waves splash pink over rocky shores.

While sitting on Mount Adams, after my brother and I made a late hike to camp, we watch a mediocre sunset. Disappointed, I went to bed. In the morning I woke to this, one of the most blazing sunrises I've ever seen. ~ Mount Adams, Mount Adams Wilderness.

After a gruelling hike into the Southern Picket Range in the Cascade Mountains, where few skiers have ever been, I sit on the clearest night looking up at the stars. While cold snow blows around my camera, I photograph our tracks (right) coming down the slopes of Glee Mountain and the stars above.

Where perfect trees align, the skier who has a love of tree runs finds a way to dance through them. In the White Pass Backcountry, there is a place with some effort where one can go all day and never find another track, just a forest of trees waiting their turn.

We decided to take some turns while we rested at White Pass for a few hours. Glacier Peak Wilderness, 2009.

With more vert than any chair in North America, Revelstoke leaves you above the clouds. Revelstoke, British Columbia.

The North Side of Mount Adams is special to me. On a mountain I've skied over 30 times, I can't help but be enamored with it. On this morning before climbing her for the second time in two days, her reflection dominates. ~ Lake 7400-ft, Mount Adams Wilderness.
